The height of cartoony nihilism. A great po-faced joke that undermines the very idea of a ballad to death, since--come on!--all you can do is laugh at this stuff. Oh, I know you say it "doesn't matter much to [you]," but that great melody and the sweet vocal harmonies beg to differ. So propulsive and melodramatic that I almost believe they mean it, but ... nah, nobody singing sweet pop like this believes a word of it. They care more about writing a great song than they do about raping my mother; I'll try to find it in my heart to forgive them.
