Matt Wertz 是一位创作型歌手，当 Wertz 在伊利诺斯大学香槟(Urbana-Champaign)分校主修工业设计专业时，就对唱歌、写歌有着有着强烈的爱好。Wertz 在一个名为”Young Life”的露营活动上表演时，就得到了很多人的喜爱。之后，他的第一张专辑《Somedays》发行了，专辑由 Steve Wilson 制作。他接下来的两张录音室专辑和一张EP都是由自己制作，EP由他的好朋友 Dave Barnes 帮忙制作。Matt 时常与 Jason Mraz，Jamie Cullum，Gavin Degraw，Matt Nathanson和 Jars Of Clay 共同参加巡回演出。
