Margot and the nuclear so and so’s这支来自加拿大的乐队,最初的成立是因为词曲人Richard Edwards和 Andy Fry在Fountain Square的一家宠物店的偶遇。Richard当时正买了一只小猫并打算给它起名Margot，而Andy正在寻觅一只钟意的蜥蜴，打算叫它“Mice”。他们二人机缘巧合的就开始了一番谈话，大概内容就是彼此的一些爱好。Richard承认他对 Paul Simon和Pavement的偏好，而Andy则表达了他很喜欢Cardigans的音乐风格。二人短短的一番谈话，几乎是从毫无关联的陌生人一下碰撞出了在一起做音乐的火花。Richard从13、14岁的时候就开始词曲创作。他把一些作品给Andy听。所有凑巧的事情似乎总喜欢在一起发生，Andy很喜欢Richard的创作。于是，两人决定组成一支乐队。Andy找来他的哥哥Chris当鼓手。他们共同的一个朋友，Jesse Lee 也加入了近来，负责提琴部分。在此之后，Richard又动员了自己的朋友Tyler Watkins和Emily Watkins加入乐队，演奏 Bass和Rhodes。至此乐队基本骨架成型，后来在录音过程中，又吸收了Hubert… Glova，负责小号演奏，为乐队的音乐整体效果润色不少。

I've been a fan of these guys since "The Dust of Retreat". I saw them live for the first time this year in Seattle and they put on a fantastic show. I highly recommend seeing them live if you get the chance. I'm still not tired of "Not Animal" and it's been on heavy rotation since it came out.

Richard, you junkie fuck, this is all your fault. You will not be forgiven you weapy piece of shit. Your selfish asshole persona caused the dissolution of this good band. Also, Eric Kang is not founding, joined after cellist Jesse Lee left. Only 2 members from Dust of Retreat remain.

Here's a link to their myspace which slightly talks about members leaving, which is not what I was necessarily looking for since I remember seeing a list with the names of who was leaving. http://blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendId=10063212&blogId=508074561 Only 3 original members remain while 5 others left. A huge part of the group

5 original members left the band, only 3 remain, and yes they are recording with new members and a new album is due in april '10 I think.
