@yxsarvik And I feel sorry for you if you can't separate the artist from the person, if only because you will be missing out on some great music if you don't. Artists - just like people in general - are still human, and their actions/conduct rarely are black or white. In most cases, it's really just different shades of gray. Don't get me wrong, far be it for me to be preachy (you can listen to whomever you want for whatever reasons you want), it just seems to me that you will most likely miss out on a lot of great music if you only enjoy a song if it reflects an artists true personality/opinions (besides I don't really think you can ever be sure of an artists true personality just by listening to his/her/their songs; a lot of them have probably mastered the art of deception to suit their own needs or are writing lyrics to cater to a certain audience and maintain a certain fanbase whithout actually "practicing what they preach" so to speak). That's just how I see it!

@yxsarvik Personally, when I listen to a song or watch an artist perform I don't find myself thinking if the artist is being truthful, if the lyrics reflect his personality or not. I'm more concerned with things like : was the song relevant to me, did it stir any emotion in me or make me reminesce about something in my past, did it make me happy/sad/angry or set me in a certain mood, did it help to brighten my day or get me through the ups and downs of everyday life? If the answers to these questions is yes than the artist deffinately has earned my respect and appreciation regardless of wether or not the song expressed his true feelings/personality/opinions. If you think every song out there is written based on personal experience or reflects the artist's personality than you are being naive. Alot of artists don't even write their own songs, some write to suit the latest trends whithout giving honesty and soul baring any thought etc..

And Michael Jackson´s whole life is in his lyrics - people should pay attention to them

What´s music to people anyway? Do they think it comes from nothing? Not from inside the artist who makes it?

And it´s perfectly ok to like Michael Jackson because he was a weirdo - that´s what made his music great. But it´s harder to believe someone enjoys listening to him while believing he was a pedophile or something...

I can´t believe what´s happening to LeAnn and her life. I used to love her, it makes me sad. About separating the artist from the person. Well, you can´t. At least not with real artists. A big part of them will always be in their music. It´s who they are.
