出生成长於洛杉矶的Katy Rose，在身为键盘手的父亲以及专业合音的母亲双双同为音乐人的鼓励策动之下，早於她年幼时期便开始著手尝试音乐创作。沾染自Liz Phair远超过於Avril Lavigne的音乐影响，Katy Rose混合她青春期的叛逆思考以及成长苦痛，却没有过於尖锐世故的灰色主张反倒令人备感清新自在。引援自她极具说服力的歌词谱写以及她令人略感不安的忧愁情绪，她完成了她个人处女之作「Because I Can」并于2004年初发行，整体专辑的音乐适当地收纳了讨喜动人的另类音色以及略带粗糙质地的车库摇滚作品。初试啼声的Katy Rose年仅16岁青春之龄，且让我们期待听见未来更多她带来的音乐作品。
