1985年8月5日，Kate Bush在BBC TV’s Wogan show上表演了《Running up that hill》。赞扬从四面八方飞来。“令人震惊的……印象深刻的，感动”……18个月内，NME承认该曲是英国乐史上非黑人艺人最佳单曲。该专辑在1985年9月16日发行，立马把Madonna从冠军宝座拉下马。“戏剧性的，美丽的，浪漫的(Sounds) ”

2005年Kate Bush发表了她第七张也是最后一张录音室专辑《The Red Shoes》，虽然当时它被看作Kate音乐生涯的滑铁卢，至此她的创作光芒暗淡下来；但这张专辑今天看来仍有独特的魅力，特别是一些重量级的客座音乐家的加盟，包括：Prince、Eric Clapton、Gary Brooker（Procol Harum的键盘手）等，为专辑增色不少。其中还融合了卡里普索、加勒比一带土著音乐，混合性感浪漫的曲风，试验大胆的制作，也是Kate最后一次在专辑中展示她美妙的无与伦比的歌喉。其中优秀的作品包括：”Rubberband Girl”、”Eat the Music”、”Moments of Pleasure”、”Why Should I Love You ?”等等。 　　有些人生来就是被别人影响的，有些人生来就是影响别人的。Kate Bush绝对是不折不扣的后者。 　　2006年11月，歌手Rufus Wainwright就公开将Kate Bush列为他的十大gay icons（同性恋者的崇拜对象）之一。要知道，gay的品味一向是不俗的。只是Kate的影响力远非仅是刻在gay circles中的烙印，她的烙印遍布世界各国杰出的音乐人。欧美摇滚乐中拥有一大票死忠fans的三大女权主义者Tori Amos、Bjork、PJ Harvey自不用说（她们都是Kate的超级fans,音乐受其很大影响），就连一直反对偶像崇拜的Sex Pistols的John Lydon都不禁赞其音乐为fucking brilliant、a true original。Trip-hop三大鼻祖之一的Tricky称Kate Bush应当比Beatles更值得珍视，并说如果他信上帝的话，Kate的音乐就是他的《圣经》。
