I've unknowingly been a fan of Jon Brion's work for many, many years. Recently, I re-watched Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (one of many great films' which score Brian has composed). I'd always wondered who was responsible for creating this wonderful music—music that, over the course of several years, I'd become so emotionally invested in. I decided to Google Jon Brion. Incidentally, it turns out that he is responsible for not only some of my favorite film scores (Eternal Sunshine, I Heart Huckabees, etc.), he's besides collaborated with / produced records for several artists that I've long-since loved and listened to (i.e., Spoon, Elliott Smith, Rufus Wainwright, Eels, Fiona Apple). It's not as if I've discovered a new artist that I'm fond of, because as I've stated, I've been quite fond of his music for several years—I just didn't know it. It feels more like I've found a new friend with whom I have an unthinkable amount of absurdly unique things in common.
