Nonetheless, it is Greene's exotic Canadian, almost Russian perspective that appeals so much to us: black, white; old, young; male, female; American, and Other (including Canadian, but mostly more foreign than that). But don't take my word for it; hey. Henrik K. Stodsen

As I listen to Jacques Greene's music, I realize something, perhaps for the first time. I feel a distinct yet indefinite emotion, from deep within what many people would call a spirit or soul. The emotion itself is indescribable, but nevertheless it imbues my entire self with a sense of a certain type of mood. It transcends the world of emotions we know- not happiness, or sorrow; not anger or fear; not even "quixotic," despite what my Livejournal emoticon suggests. It is a mood known only to Jacques Greene- and those that listen to Jacques Greene's albums, EPs, and songs. Songs such as "Good Morning," a reference to the common salutation in Greene's native land, Montreal, or "The Look," an impenetrable title that perhaps bespeaks the difficulties of translating Greene's works for an American audience.

I was very moved by your biography of Jacques Greene. I wrote a little bit more to add to it, hope you don't mind. It's just the incredible way that Jacques Greene makes music that allows him to truly forge songs. Whence does he derive his power of musical creation? The question is, sadly, rhetorical; no one knows. However, we do know one thing. All people who listen to any type of musical composition can agree that the music of Jacques Greene is timeless and everlasting, like a smart Ikea dining room ensemble, or the eternal torment of the damned. According to my Dictionary app, music is defined as "the art or science of combining vocal or instrumental sounds (or both) to produce beauty of form, harmony, and expression of emotion." In addition, it means "the vocal or instrumental sound produced in this way" and "a sound perceived as pleasingly harmonious." This is an appropriate description of the music of Jacques Greene. And not just you and I, but the entire world as a whole.
