出生于西印度群岛千里达托贝哥的Heather Headley，身为牧师女儿，从小就在充满音乐环绕的教堂中开始表演生涯，年仅四岁就弹得一手好琴，随后接触较为民族色彩的当地歌谣、雷鬼等乐种。15岁移民美国印第安纳州，高中毕业后，Heather进入西北大学研读音乐、歌舞剧等相关科系。1997年登上百老汇舞台饰演狮子王nala要角，1999年以“阿依达”音乐剧获得东尼奖“最佳女演员”。惊为天人的嗓音让Heather于2002年发行个人专辑《This Is Who I Am》，首支单曲”He Is出”版，立刻入围灵魂列车“最佳节奏蓝调/ 灵魂或饶舌新进艺人”奖，接着节奏蓝调榜Top15+舞曲榜Top5的第二波碎心单曲”I Wish I Wasn’t”，获得葛莱美“最佳新人”、“最佳节奏蓝调女歌手”等两项大奖入围，2003年更赢得灵魂列车“年度最佳个人节奏蓝调/ 灵魂专辑”以及“最佳个人节奏蓝调/ 灵魂或饶舌新进艺人”两大奖、“最佳节奏蓝调/ 灵魂单曲”He Is””提名，Naacp Image奖项“杰出新人”与“杰出女艺人”提名，入选Billboard音乐奖“年度节奏蓝调/ 嘻哈新人”奖，优异的成绩，让人无法不将目光多停留在她身上！！(转)…

I absolutely love Heather as a singer, especially on the Broadway cast recordings of 'The Lion King' and 'Aida', but I can't help but admit that her albums are a bit boring. With her amazing talent and such a deep, versatile voice, she could do so much more than the generic r'n'b pop that her albums, excluding some great songs, represent. I wish she'd record more songs like 'Change' or 'If It Wasn't for Your Love'...
