The soundtrack to Past Lives sounded suspiciously like Grizzly Bear and I was like nah... turns out it's Daniel Rossen & Christopher Bear! Check it out if you're missing GB!

These guys are my blanket scarf on a crisp autumn day. My turmeric latte with maple syrup. My early morning commute in the fog. All my procrastinated assignments at 5am on the due date... That sense of floating in the surreal lushness of deep fatigue and daydreams. Love them, miss them.

This is all so accurate but especially "All my procrastinated assignments at 5am on the due date". They were the soundtrack to my student years.

Just a little too ornate, pastoral, and obsessed with mood creation to stand the test of time. The haunted, hollowed-out spectre of tune almost feels like a vaguely remembered dream than a resonant sound that persists.

Stupidly underrated band. The number of plays for any track that isn't Two Weeks is embarrassing.

All 3 albums I have are wonderful (Yellow House, Veckatimest, Painted Ruins), I like how clever the song structures are, only very rarely does a song of them go the standard 3 chorus routine (only 4 songs in those 3 albums). There is also plenty of beautiful atmosphere in most songs. It was completely coincidence when I discovered this band years ago but I'm very thankful for knowing them. As for Painted Ruins, somehow I think it's the perfect album for eating pizza (or any similar stuff). Sound and production of the instruments make me think that way.

I'm so sad that the one chance I had to see them live, I was at another concert that night because I had no idea Grizzly Bear was in town. Now I probably never will : (

Pretty much. I chat to Ed on Instagram often and he pretty much has no desire to perform again with the band.

this band is one of the few bands that i feel "composes" their music. there is a lot going on, much of it deliberate, but somewhat experimental as well

I really love how Daniel uses his magical guitar skills... I love how guitar chords sound like sudden lightning strikes... Goosebumps...

I'm here to express what they made me feel, I suddenly started listening to them with their last album and at first I didn't know what I was listening to, I found them uncanny brilliance, but not instantly, I loved them more and more each time I was hearing the songs, They're so great. That sound keeps playing in my head.

Grizzly Bear's music has the ability to bring you down and make you feel somber but in a beautiful way that's so much easier felt than expressed in words.

I thought I'd never like this band. How could I be so mistaken? Beach House and Grizzly Bear have composed the most beautiful melodies in the present time. They are the best musicians of the century.
