hi guys. i'm really into the stones especially their albums like exile, let it bleed, beggars etc. i love torn and frayed by them and reading up on that song that it was v influenced by gram parsons. i've heard this guys name and heard of the flying burrito brothers and i do like the byrds. can someone here recommend me some of his stuff (solo, burrito, byrds, whatever) i'm thinking of starting by listening to the gilded palace of sin album but any thing else by him i should def check out? many thanks.

i'm not looking at his excesses as a result of his music, i'm looking at them as a cause. by the extension that i love his music, does this not mean that i'm celebrating both things? regardless of what any of us would like to think about ourselves, he lived a life that many would if they were talented enough to sustain it doing something they truly loved. to mourn over his life wasted is not only irrelevant, but something i feel he would not have been truly pleased about. i'm also abit annoyed that you saw that comment as me simply praising the beauty of heroin and cocaine, "OH DRUGS ARE COOL PEOPLE WHO DO THEM ARE BADASS OUTLAWS", as opposed to the actual beauty of his lyrics and melodies.

Not Sure IAJP is celebrating Gram Parson the Artist and Man who produced some of the Loveliest and lasting Music during his short tragic life/ or Gram Parsons the Man who had a serious Drink and Drug addiction...I know it it cuts against the grain of Mythic drinking sessions/and living life on the edge but his dependency on drugs/Alcohol was a fuckin tragedy nothing less

gram man..whatta guy...can't believe he was only 26 when he died, a true freak due to his heavy and often extremely heady excursions into drugs that would last for days at a time..he knew how to party but his back catalogue of over 5 recording artists / names speak for itself...a true hero is gram..."the first time i lose i drink whiskey..second time i lose i drink gin...third time i lose i drink anythin' coz i think i'm gonna win"
