"The Black Tar Prophecies series revived!!! BTP vol 4 will be out in April or May next year. Naturally, it'll be a vinyl-only (for now), decadently packaged (rad) sort of jam." Fuck yes. Hopefully it'll retain the same style, 'cause if there's anything I'd want them to "revive," it would definitely be BTP.

first off - grails = wonderful. second off - overrated? who says this? religion, now that's overrated.

all of their stuff takes time to sink into. I still find new stuff in each song every time I listen. burning off impurities and black tar prophecies are very similar in style, at least in my eyes. I'll be honest though, I'm not a huge fan of their older, more generic post-rock style (as in pre-black tar/three interpretations days).

chocobox, the other albums are probably boring to you because of the expectations you developed from burning off impurities. treat each album as though it were a different band playing the music and you'll probably hear it in ways you never imagined
