I haven't been a listener to Genesis, but I've had a dream last night that I got one of their cd's ordered. As I got it, I remember the cover was an image black, bronze and sepia. It could be a cover artwork of Nursery Cryme, now that I've checked the discography. Though during the dream, I can't stop recalling the phrase "Selling Album By The Pound", which is the album title I discovered in the Progarchives top list. I believe my view in Genesis will be changed forever: What was the name of another old legendary band, will be remembered like a sweet, nostalgic dream.

The original idea of the last Genesis reunion was to have Hackett, Gabriel, Rutherford, Banks and Collins playing Lamb Lies Down completely again, but Peter rejected, because the challenge of playing this prog rock legend live again was too risky for him.

So they were inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame, finally. I wonder if they'll perform with Peter..then perhaps embark on a world tour performing all of The Lamb Lies down on Broadway in its entirety..that'd be nice.

That's because lastfm is full of people who don't know anything about music. Ask most people under 25 what progressive rock is and they'll say "what?" and then ask them if they know that Genesis used to be progressive rock and they'll say "what the fuck are you talking about? Genesis is pop! You're so stupid!".

Nursery Cryme, Selling England By The Pound and Foxtrot are fucking awesome albums! They have all of the good things about music = creativity, diversity (all of the songs sound different), memorability, catchiness, agelessness (never get boring), epicness, great riffs, great melodies, great solos and great vocals! Own the shit out of any Collins-era album.
