传记

Frank Zappa原名Francis Vincent Zappa Jr.

1966年出版专辑《Absoulately Free》和1967年出版专辑《We’re only in it for the money》。

My life was pretty different after I had discovered Zappa! [2] So true. One of the greatest musicians of the 20th century. So sad I will never see him live...

So far I only have Absolutely Free and Freak Out! and I enjoy Freak Out! the most. I plan on getting more Zappa. This dude rules! I love his quotes. I remember sharing his quotes often on Facebook.

(1984) - Boulez conducts Zappa - The perfect stranger - Pierre Boulez (born March 26, 1925) is a composer and conductor of contemporary and classical music. Boulez is also an articulate, perceptive and sweeping writer on music. Some articles —notably the notorious «Schoenberg is Dead» (1951)— were deliberately provocative and veered towards polemic

Ech, you make it sound like he attacked my arguments, not me personally. He didn't engage with anything I said.

v I think you're taking that comment a bit too personally.

If you object to anything I say, you should give ARGUMENTS. Trading insults is tedious and I really become bored when I accidentally get embroiled in one of these 'flame wars'.There's a depressing tendency among narrow-minded Zappa fans (or 'Zappaists') to put Zappa in an altar and to hold that he never did any wrong. If you think that Zappa never made a crap record, or that nothing he did was questionable, at least buttress a decent enough argument to defend said position.

@Sad_florenthine but the real question is: would Zappa work with Wagner? (also:'If Richard Wagner were alive, he'd work with Zappa, if he were alive ;) )

I remember when I first got into aged 14 Zappa I heard Uncle Meat, Freak Out!, Hot Rats, Money etc. and was blown away. It contaminated my pristine mind. But then I looked into his mid 70s work and found those records disappointing. Hell, I still find them disappointing. (OS consists of slick rock songs with dirty lyrics whilst Apostrophe is toilet humour with jazz fusion and a plodding bass line.) So, if you're a weird person like me, and you prefer the jazz/modern classical/prog-rock end of things, start with the Mothers. If you're a rock and roll consumer, start with the mid-70s. Still, if you want to expand your musical horizons a lot of those records might still seem tame.
