I love his use of imagery. I can imagine this entire song as his family's story. It really paints a picture of his family history and well as a lot of other first generation Japanese-American's stories.

Well ... Outside the camps, the Japanese in America during World War II did not think were very glad. So it is not the fact that they would have remained outside the safe. By analogy to the Jews in Nazi Germany, or the enemies of the people in the Soviet Union. Set against the people of the unwanted (= I apologize in advance for the English

So powerful.. this is amazing. Nothing has changed, though, has it? Since the 2nd world war... innocent civilians are still dying in many parts of the world in the name of "peace" by cold-blooded leaders and soldiers thinking they're doing their people a favor.. protecting them from something.. but no one knows what this something is.

I love this song and I love this story. It shows that we take what we have for granted. I could not imagine living this way. Sad story but it makes you open your eyes and your ears to the world.

I love this song, I cry every time I hear the woman on it speak, because she sounds so much like my grandmother, who is also Japanese-American. But to Sam_Paine, and everyone else who comments on the Japanese atrocities during World War II as a sick sort of justification for internment, you are missing the point. Internment was not hurtful to these people because they were Japanese, it hurt because they were American.

This track hasn't come up for a while, wow, the trolls are out LMAO. @chadsta4: What an amazingly lucid well thought out argument. Funny how anytime anyone disagrees with a PC drone, they are always accused of the same meaningless things. @enriquep15: Seriously? That's the best you've got? He disagree, I call him names.

Congratulations, Sam_Paine. You just might be the most retarded person I've ever read on the internet.

In Germany they called them concentration camps and KILLED the people and cremated their bodies by the MILLIONS... How come nobody sings about that? In the city of Nanking alone the Japanese Army murdered 100,000 civilians. Yet, we are the bad guys? The Japanese internment was tragic. Which would you rather have had happen to your family, internment or death? If you have to think about, you need to leave this country.
