来自英国四面八方的青年们在大学里相遇，主唱Tom Smith、吉他手Chris Urbanowicz 、贝斯手Russ Leetch与鼓手Ed Lay这四位毕业後为共同理想一起移居伯明罕，回绝主流唱片之邀与独立厂牌签约，堪称相当性格。当然，在确认他们的音乐血缘之前，无论如何，这的确又是一帮复古份子，玩着近几年英国忽然回锅再热的类型，从Franz Ferdinand、Bloc Party到The Killers，强劲且厚实的低音部带着简洁但辛辣的吉他，大夥忽然发现摇滚乐又可以跳舞了，目前已清楚被划归至後庞克阵营的Editors如此看来居然不太有投机跟风之感，那被传媒哄抬的阴郁低回乃至新歌德招牌(如NME宣称的︰「Britain’s Gloomiest Band」)未必是他们真正胜出的关键，相对乐观的态度、直率的歌词与流畅的旋律显然才令他们崛起如平地一声雷。
首支单曲〈Bullets〉於去年一月限量推出，当天一千张便售罄。The Guardian誉为当年最叫人兴奋的摇滚乐作品之一的第二波劲歌〈Munich〉更确认了众人对他们成为年度新团的期待，顺利打进全英排行第22名。七月发表的第三支单曲〈Blood〉接力攻上第18名，说明了他们的魅力继续发酵。今年初〈Munich〉重发，不但缔造Editors生涯第一支全英十大单曲，也为首张专辑《The Back Room》做足暖身。果然专辑初登场便来到第13名且一反常态地向上直线攀升至亚军席次。《The Back Room》中愈发可见这帮青年其实并不打算也不愿意藉Joy Division或Echo & Bunnymen等经典前辈之名打天下，〈Bullets〉甚至泄漏着他们原来早有U2之风。NME 8分、Drowned in Sound 9分，同步见证了他们相当大器的格局，又甫入围本届水星音乐奖(Mercury Music Prize)年度最佳专辑，Editors的未来无疑非常可期！

Truly a good band, and all praise for the commitment to this way of composing, though a little sorry for the old editions, but the way they approach every issue is an amazing and impressive. All praise for previous work and I hope in the longer existence and progress of this band better, more experienced and a true work of the future. When someone in your life fails to contribute to that feel and live a life filled with new, more mature, and with much more optimism that one must pay tribute. In the name I want to thank the band like Editors, which as such are and what we have pets of music, they enable the enjoyment of music. Only words of praise for Editors.
