@ RedArmada: It isn't really nonlinear enough to be avant-garde, although their sound definitely deviates from the typical. There's no doubt that they experiment. Actually, none of the "similar artists" are anything like DSO (I lol'd upon seeing Epica)

The opera is more over the top on the new album, I love them both.... this band is amazing. Butchers Ballroom is a hell of a lot darker in its own respect, Sing Alongs is more upbeat.
