David Ford

I have to admire this guy's tendency for consistence: "Charge", though not my favourite album, is just as good as any of his previous releases. Gotta love the rockier soul of that "Every Time" tune, a cosy wink to the Easyworld days.

I was so, so lucky to have known a bit about him before I went overseas for the first time from the US, and low and behold on one of the three nights I was "couchsurfing" in London, he was doing a benefit not far from where I was staying. I must say it was a stunning performance. I one-man tour de force of looping music technology, instrumental versatility, and lyrical power. I'll never forget it.

...Because he spends too much time giving too much attention to a country who doesn't really care that much about his music instead of embracing his European nature. Douchebag!

Anyone else pick up his book? It's made me listen to Songs For The Road in a different light, knowing its tumultuous production.

That was actually quite an entertaining story, thanks nineinchneals! David Ford is a tremendously underrated artist, sadly. But we who know him are definitely enjoying some of the finest music made in the UK.

The first time I heard anything by David Ford I was actually working at a bar in Southampton. It was late and quiet (some random Monday night) and, for some reason, the video for I Don't Care What You Call Me appeared on the TV. I watched for the full song and, not knowing who he was, scrambled at the end of the video to find a pen and paper so I could write down his name and find the track at home. I guess this was about four years ago and I've been listening to him ever since! As somebody stated below, he deserves much more credit and recognition; his music does what a lot of the other music I possess can't.

I got my limited edition CD yesterday! Mine is #376 :) I must say it's a rather lovely book and I just found it adorable that the CD looks like a vinyl... OK, I'll stop all this gayness now.

"Let The Hard Times Roll" is a great album! It sure develops and cements David's reputation as currently one of UK's finest singer-songwriters. This man does not disappoint!
