aaaah, i really wish as wouldn't scrobble stuff from notorious lightning and other works as being from your blues. oh well, both versions are quite amazing nonetheless.

perhaps the metal heads are thinking of the band destroyer 666. an artist's alias doesn't always reflect their genre.

Haha, when I went to see Destroyer play last year, there were a bunch of really disappointed metal heads that showed up expecting some thrash show... kinda sucked for them.

i don't like this guy... it doesn't sound me good at all. Kind of boring and repeating stuff. Will those post-indies invent something new?

all dislike or like of any kind of music is subjective. that being said, both destroyer and of montreal pwn existence [imo]

the name destroyer was not taken to sound metal. it was taken to reflect bejar's attitudes and goals regarding the broken state of contemporary music and the music industry.

i agree with the idea that they took the name destroyer to sound metal. atleast that's what i thought they were...until i saw dan bejar was in it. p.s. me gusta mucho la nueva 'look'

PEiP: such a bad name for an indie band this is a joke, right? anyway, according to dan bejar: I kind of wanted to go for a rock 'n' roll name. In our own special way we're tearing shit apart, you just have to listen very carefully. Musically I knew it was never going to be a metal band, but I thought lyrically there were fangs to the music.

I love Destroyer and CYHSY, but I could help lolling when Pitchfork described Ounsworth's voice as Bejar impersonating Eric Cartman.
