I'm very thankful for discovering Dan Bejar. His New Pornographer songs are what led to my discovery of Destroyer. I have Trouble in Dreams...I guess Streethawk is his best?

Yes! Same thoughts as below. Does anyone? I saw him on Sunday, and I would like to know the set list.

Love the band, great sound and a real harmony of soft guitar and instrumentals. Good band.

people bitch about his voice because they want some attention up in here. there's nothing wrong with his voice. d. bejar is flawless. simple.

(the hook from) shooting rockets sounds A LOT like a composition Pino Donaggio did for nic roeg's film Don't Look Now. so much i would almost be inclined to call it plagiarism. but hey i love plagiarism. and the song's pretty swell too.

I wish I could staple this guy's mouth shut. He can play & write all he wants, just... make him shut up.

definitely start with streethawk. then rubies then trouble in dreams. and yes, the similar artists list is pretty accurate, though they forgot one: sunset rubdown. in fact, trouble in dreams sounds so much like random spirit lover. i think...

I'm liking TiD a lot right now, but it's too early to say how it will match up against Rubies. It's certainly the best album of 2008 that I've heard so far though. Shooting Rockets is epic.
