Their weakest album: the first two tracks hold some promise, and "Make Love" is a beautiful little slice of melody. Nevertheless, none of these songs feel complete to me, at best they falter in the last 1/4 (The title track, The Prime Time of Your Life), and at worst (Steam Machine) they get boring and repetitive within the first minute. There's just not enough work put into these songs: the short recording session is obvious and it doesn't work well for Daft Punk at all. It's unfortunate they didn't recognize this and throw more time into production.

Pretty good album, this doesn't deserve the hate it gets. You should note this is extremely repetitive for a reason, pretty much every DP has some self-ironic elements, and this was produced in 6 weeks or something like that. The loops are pretty catchy here and the album has a meaning despite it's very little lyrical content. Also I have a great respect for these guys not to make Discovery no.2, that's pretty much what most lazy producers would have done. Bold robots here. (2)
