that's a real good mingus tune. the only stuff i'm really familiar with is off 'moanin', but i saw a show that the columbus jazz orchestra put on that featured the music of mingus. that was an awesome show! over at the ohio theatre, right around the corner from where i live

It's here with his overdubbed Piano (and at times on the solo piano album: Me, Myself when I'm Real) that Mingus expresses what it is to be him! naked banging his head against teasingly ajar door with classical concerto like chords slammed down trying to get his complex ways across! What is he trying to say? You can feel his beautiful frustration!
