He dedicated this song to the veterans, especially those from Vietnam, at his show in the 80s at the Oakland Coliseum Arena it was a 3+ hour show and we went crazy during the Scenes from an Italian Restaurant.

Best song Joel ever did. Captures real life in Nam. Thanks Billy for letting the others know. And yes it did matter. One Million seven hundred thousand Cambodian's killed by Khmer rouge after we left Nam and the politicians watched too unpopular to get involved; Over one million dead and more raped in Rwanda and the politicians watched, they weren't white; 500,00 dead in Darfur millions displaced & 10,000 more dying each month while the politicians continue to watch & multi-nationals continue to invest. Yes, it certainly does matter.
