Minha opinião: Pode-se dizer que a primeira música do álbum é a que tem o maior contraste, e muita técnica por parte de cada um dos integrantes. O que eu descreveria como o refrão não é cantado, a guitarra interrompe todos e determina sua passagem, porque refrões não são necessariamente feitos de letras, e aquilo não é bem uma melodia...Mais para berros agudos que deveriam incomodar, porêm, tem o efeito inevitável de fazer o indivíduo parar e esperar que Alex volte a cantar e logo adiante mais variações incríveis apareçam. …

Humbug war eines der Alben (wenn nicht sogar DAS Album), auf das ich mich dieses Jahr am meisten gefreut haben. Nach den zwei grossartigen ersten Alben der arktischen Affen und Alex Turners sehrsehrsehr gelungenem Intermezzo mit The Last Shadow Puppets war ich überzeugt, dass ich nach den leisen Enttäuschungen, die mir Franz Ferdinand, Mando Diao und Maxïmo Park "beschert" haben, auf die oben angesprochenen Klettertiere vertrauen kann. Zurecht?

Ich fand The Age of the Understatement von Turners Nebenprojekt wie gesagt sehr gut, freute mich aber beim neuen Album der Arctic Monkeys auf ihren klassischen Sound, dezent aggressiv und, wenn auch technisch perfekt, nicht abgehoben. Alex' Stimme hatte dabei stets etwas "amateurhaftes", was hier aber nur positiv gemeint ist. Er war ein singender Gitarrist. Kein gitarrespielender Sänger. Bei den Last Shadow Puppets wurde er zu ebendiesem girattespielenden Sänger (was er in einem Interview sogar selbst bestätigte). …

So, here is a few band i discover in a last month or two...

1. Arctic Monkeys

Great rock band from england. I really like them lately. Great guitar work, drums are amazing, and I really like Alex's british accent. As far as I know, so far they have released 2 full lenght albums, from witch I would recommend Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not. Really great album wiht a lot of great songs. I would recommend them to everyone who like rock, and english bands.
My favorite songs from AM are currently: Flourescent Adolescent,
Mardy Bum, Leave Before The Lights Come On, When the Sun Goes Down, I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor, The View from the Afternoon, 505, Dancing Shoes, Riot Van and lots more

2. A.c.t

For this band I have heard from one friend from last.fm. It's proggresive rock band from Sweden. At A.c.t i like vocal's voice the most. Beside vocal, melody is quite nice, and when you put it together, you get masterpiece :D As far as I know they have released 4 albums so far.
