If aliens were to save a selected group of human beings from the long-time prophetized self-extermination and ask everyone and each of us to give one example of one of our individual talents in order to be considered a candidate, Thom Yorke could play Analyse and that would suffice to earn himself a whole musical planet somewhere in the galaxy.
Unfortunately, he is too much of a melancholic and I guess he would rather stay and see the world collapse from the comfort of his backyard while strumming a sad melody on his old guitar. If I only were his neighbour...

As much as I hate the electronic tag, nothing else covers it. Anyway, I have put together a blog of my top 321 electronic tracks, it's not in number order tho. There is an embedded youtube vid for every song, album art, Spotify & Last.fm links where available and a download section. You can search by artists or by genre. The Top 30 Albums of 2007. Final Draft

lost list when I reformatted, will come back to this when i have some free time
2007 was certainly a jam-packed year. Even though this is my final list, I feel like there is a huge amount of albums that I either didn't get a chance to listen to or didn't listen to enough.
With that being said, here is my final list of the top 30 albums of 2007, with some honorable mentions thrown in, since I found it pretty much impossible to whittle down such a huge year into only 30 albums.
Honorable Mentions:
*Against Me! - New Wave
-There probably wasn't a more controversial album that came out this year than this one. I listened to it not knowing anything about Against Me! and enjoyed it very much, but after listening to Against Me!'s older work I can understand why many of their fans feel such disdain for it. Even with that in mind, it is still a very good album.

Yesterday, while browsing through a couple of my recommendations, I came across some idm/electro stuff created by Apparat (and a collaboration with Ellen Allien (Ellen Allien & Apparat).
Apparat reminds me of an electro version of Coldplay.. I think I like their album Walls best. Also, be sure to check out Telefon Tel Aviv's remix ofArcadia, called Arcadia (Telefon Tel Aviv remix).
A world of new sounds are opening up to me... thank you, last.fm! -
Top Songs of 2007

In keeping with the year-end tradition of best-of lists, I hereby submit my (highly subjective) list of the Top 20 songs of 2007. I am astounded by how hard it was to narrow this list down to twenty tracks, but here they are. Top 10 albums to follow before the end of the year.

20.None Shall Pass—Aesop Rock . . . hyper-literate, verbose master of relentless flow has finally made a song that not only makes you think, but makes you bob your head as well.
19.Paper Planes—M.I.A . . . filling the song with inventive sounds, playfully grandiose lyrics and infectious beats, M.I.A has finally made a song that has made me stop hating her.
18. Icky Thump—The White Stripes . . . this is exactly what straight-up blues rock should sound like in 2007. Robert Plant and Mick Jagger can only wish they could still make music as mad and raucous as this. One of the best lead-off tracks of the year.
