51 seconds of metallic hardcore fury, tearing out of the speakers like a pack of slavering dogs from the off, somehow stuffing in two verses, a lot of screaming, and then the last ten seconds preparing to rip into the second track (which is pretty fucking good, too). Not sure what happened to this lot, but just for a short while they were awesome, like Helmet on a force-fed diet of steroids that weren't quite as reserved, either, as this track proved nicely.

A perhaps predictable subject for this week's Tuesday Ten: it's all about space, what with it being the 40th anniversary of the first moon landings this week. I've always thought of songs written to be about space travel, or related subjects, to be a very common theme, but in the event it actually turned out to be a really bloody hard list to collate. I'm sure that readers of this will suggest many more than I came up with, though...

It was right on the brink of failing out of college that I discovered Apoptygma Berzerk. The Winter Break where 2002 stumbled into 2003 was one where I spent many late nights aimlessly surfing the Internet, listening to various Live365 stations. It was on a station labelled "Perkigoth Radio" that I heard the single edit of "Kathy's Song (Come Lie Next To Me)." "Oh glorious synthpop," I exclaimed inwardly, "Is this an Erasure song I've yet to hear?"

"What a minute," I'm sure you're thinking, "you were listening to a streaming radio station and you didn't bother to look at the on-screen display in the streaming window to find out what you were listening to if you liked it so much? What kind of a dumb-ass fuckwit are you?" Well…

And another one of those lyrics quizzes. However, this time I did not put my player on random and took the first two lines of the lyrics of whatever track came up. Nope, I chose all tracks by hand and took two lines of the lyrics from an arbitrary part of the song.
