Fri 1 Feb – Big Day Out

Quiet Child
Adelaide band. Great vocals and overall sound. Songs were a bit on the epic side. Needed a bit more punch to get the day started.

British India
Rocked on the Triple J stage. From Melbourne. Fun.

Kate Nash
Played on the essential stage. Red and white polka dot dress. Sound was atrocious and could not hear vocals at all. Pity, as she seemed interesting.

Josh Pyke
Great stuff. Lots of the crowd members were singing along. Enjoyed this a lot. Had to leave early to catch tail end of the Gurg though - bummer. Memorable songs:

wow. today was a great day. totally exhausting but great. as you can see this is my first ever journal entry, so i guess i'll just walk you through my day.

i attended this magnificent event with my brother sean and my friends chris, alyssa, and chris p. from work. they were a very fun crowd! we arrived at warped tour at about 11:45 and went straight over to write down all the times of the bands we wanted to see. i, being a huge nerd, had prepared and printed out this big list of all the bands i wanted to see, with blanks for stage and time, haha. so once we got all the times down we kinda cruised around for a while, scoping out the bands' tents and whatnot. we caught the last song or two of Greeley Estates which was pretty good. then we accidentally caught Bullet For My Valentine who i only recognized from a video game i have haha. but they performed that one song really well. then we went and sat in the ampitheatre for a while to kill some time and take advantage of the shade and seats…

can imagine seeing all these punk legends in one day?

it was insane!

anti flag played an excellent blend of new and old starting with Fuck Police Brutality and playing excellent tracks like Got the Numbers, Underground Network, The Press Corpse, Rank-N-File and Die For Your Government amoung about 4 others.

less than jake was the biggest party ever, and played an orgasmic set list of pretty much ALL their best songs ever: History Of A Boring Town, Gainsville Rock City, Overrated, Last One Out Of Liberty City, The Science of Selling Yourself Short and Look What Happened amoung a bunch more.

hahah you can NEVER go wrong with MFATGG!! it was just hilarious, what a concert

DROPKICKS!! YES!! what a show! everything from The Warrior's Code to Boys on the Docks! no Fields of Athenry sadly but still what a show!

BAD RELIGION! SECOND TIME! SO MUCH FUN! they opened with Recipe for Hate, and went on to play Let Them Eat War…

If you werent there you missed one HELL of a concert! I can't even begin to describe how great it was! Anti-flag opend with Die For Your Government Oh man it was great! Got to meet Justin Sane and shake his hand and I hugged and got a hug from the lead singer to The A.K.A.S (Are Everywhere)! Oh man tonight was great... I love Punk <3. Man... The Casualties and The Unseen were fuckin awesome as well! I'm so happy... ^.^ Smoke or Fire were good too but for some reason I didn't much get into them. Ya'll missed a killer show
