A lot of fans are starting to criticize Anti-flag and their decision to move to major label RCA. Fans are citing lyrics from songs like
Daddy Warbux and
Their System Doesn't Work for You to point out the hypocrisy in Anti-Flag signing to a major corporate label. For so long, Anti-flag has been against all major corporations, has been against the major companies, has fought "the man" but now it seems that they are just part of the system they tried top defeat.
My stance on the move is Justin Sane's view: That movie to a major label is going to get their album more attention, more air time, and more copies moved. Why is this a good thing? More people are going to hear their message. It's nice that Anti-flag is fighting against President Bush and the right, but if no on hears their music, who gives a fuck? By moving to RCA, they will get more people to listen to their music, read their website, and see the big picture: That America is getting screwed.
