Who cares what it is, as long as it's good...and Angelspit is. Saw them with KMFDM recently; didn't have much of a stage show, but I really like their sound even so. A lot of their songs have grown on me lately.

Not innovative? Read their lyrics and the concepts behind them, way more creative than a lot of the EBM out there. I would not place them in the EBM category. They are more than music, they are art. The music is artsy along with their visual appearence and art work.

I kinda agree with Slaything about the mix of their music as there's clearly old-EBM influences, industrial influences and rock influences. Fact is that you can't classify them in one single genre ; but what I (first) loved in Angelspit is how they manage to distort guitar riffs with heavy electronic beats. About the cyberpunk stuff, this is mostly about their image. I like the fact that they add importance to their imagery (costumes, booklets, live shows, etc).

touring with kmfdm does not make you industrial. industrial music is experimental. but ok, i'll fix my previous statement, angelspit are a mix of ebm (hard gothic dance music) and industrial rock (punk rock with heavy electronics). they may be more creative than most ebm bands, which isn't saying much, but to be innovative they would have to invent a new genre of music. and cyberpunk is a science fiction, not a musical genre, no matter how much you tag them with it. but as i said, i'm not attacking their music, i'm only trying to clear up some misunderstandings
