I keep hearing Amplifico turning up on the tartan podcast, and with good reason. Been enjoying listening to them. I'll just leave you with a link hear, you can find their tunes and decide for yourself.

So my friend commented on how I always seem to be listening to 'weird, foreign music'. WHat she actually meant is that i listen to very little of the UK charts...(coz it's shit and I am over ten years old.) Then I looked at my top artists list and thought it would be fun to see how many and what countires I have on my list and if there is any pattern.

Gosh but I am a fun gal, huh?

If you call out for long enough, things do get picked up. On a previous blog here, I got to singing the praises of Stereomovers and their lovely track Ozean which reminds me of the brilliant electronic stuff I was finding on BBSs back in the 80s, and I love to it. I wish I could buy the album, but iTunes doesn't work here, so I'll have to wait it out.

Now, if I could get Amplifico, who have been promoted passionately by The Tartan Podcast, to hop on board, and Motherfucker on as well, that would be neat.

Amplifico are a bloody wicked 4 piece band from Scotland who are yet to be signed, but also lacking funds to complete their album. The Amplifico webathon will be the first ever online gig with the aim of raising money to record their album and to bring wonderful music to our ears. Even if you don't want to donate, just listen to the damn good music and spread the word!

I should give some comparison really so as to give give and idea of their sound, but it's really difficult; they're damn original. Donna (lead singer) has been compared to KT Tunstall and has also supported her at some of her gigs.

I don't hate him by any stretch of the imagination. After the 3rd Taylor song in a row, though, I start to feel a little queasy from an overdose of his very particular vocal sound.

This is the kind of music I listen to on those days when I'm temporarily sick of my favorites. Normally, their aimless charm just doesn't quite click with me.

I can only take 1 Decemberists song at a time. (I don't know what it is about these artists that annoy me, but usually I can actually stand them - just not in quantity.)
