In May 2006 I posted a journal entry to start a list of great summer songs (or see list below).

You know the type, glorious songs that celebrate the sun, the fun, the adventure, the love, the drinking, the new friends, the lazing, the bathing, the sweating and the sheer joy you get when the sun decides to show it's bloody face!

Now, March 2009 in London town the weather is once again starting to shine and I'm getting in a SPRING kind of mood, which reminded me of this list!

Since 3 years have passed there are plenty of great songs over this time that could be added to this list! Also, revising this one I made ... err ... I think my tastes have moved on a little, so some will have to go! (Sugar Ray?!)

I'm slowly going to add new tracks. Get involved!!

К концу 2008 во множестве блогов (собственно, как и обычно) стали появляться символические итоги уходящего года. Я такие подводить не хочу - за одним исключением. Правильно, речь пойдёт о музыке (раз уж мы здесь). Итак, несколько мною же придуманных номинаций - лауреат - и несколько претендентов.
1. Песня года: услышанная в канун прошлого нового года песня Within Temptation feat. Keith Caputo What Have You Done.
Претенденты: X-Perience Personal Heaven, Dream of Love; L'Ame Immortelle Fallen Angel, Amanda Marshall Let It Rain, Coldplay Viva La Vida.
2. Исполнитель года: L'Ame Immortelle. Тут без вариантов.
Претенденты: X-Perience, Within Temptation.
3. Альбом года: их два. X-Perience - Lost In Paradise и Within Temptation - The Heart Of Everything. Здесь даже претендентов других нет.
4. Концерт года. За этот год я был на 8 концертах, из них 3 с моим участием на сцене ;) Но тут тоже без вариантов - концерт L'Ame Immortelle в "Точке" 27 сентября был лучшим концертом в моей жизни.

It wasn't too long ago that I started seeing lots of folks on last.fm linking to pages on a site called "Rate Your Music," primarily for things like favorite album lists, but also in their profiles for no specific reason. Now, of course, for the longest time, I never followed or payed mind to these links at all. But as I started seeing more and more of them, I became embarrassingly intrigued as to why users on a music-oriented social networking site (of sorts) would be feverishly linking to another music-oriented social networking site. So, one day I pointed my Firefox to www.rateyourmusic.com and set up an account to see what it was all about.

After using many of the site's features, I can say with total conviction that I'm not at all sure what it is all about.

Rate Your Music ("RYM") appears to be a poorly conceived, unpleasant chimera of MySpace, last.fm and Discogs. It encourages the same sort of music discussion as last. …
