Hello,

Recently, I have been getting into the band Agalloch. I will write the band's name as a link once right there so you can check them out if you have not already. Anyway, I have been listening to their music a lot lately. In fact, they're probably 75% of what I listen to nowadays.
This band is perfect for me. Though I can easily listen to faster, more brutal metal, (i.e.Necrophagist or Nile) I do very much enjoy the more chill and relaxed side of metal. Agalloch is a very chill band. Their precise genre is atmospheric dark/folk metal. There is no better way to describe it. Their brilliant instrumental styles create a very dark and atmospheric feeling, and there are definitely some folkloric elements applied to the music. I could listen to the album Pale Folklore while going to sleep, and fall asleep peacefully and easily, but I can also listen to it any time during the day and it will be just as amazing without boring me or anything.

"Johnny, I hardly knew ye" is an old Irish anti war song. It has the same melody as, but should not be mistaken with "When Johnny comes marching home"

I've had an idea for this list for quite a long time but only now i actually managed to write something down.

So the day i really found good music and became enthustiastic about finding new bands was when I first discovered In Flames, back in 2000 (i think). Their Album Colony was the blowaway for me. Even though it has lost some of it's touch during years, it is still a really strong album.

So i've been into metal for quite a tiny amount of time. From metal my musical taste has evolved to multiple genres of metal and beyond. Outside Metal i'd like to mention genres like Neo-folk and Psychedelic Rock. But i like to keep myself open minded so who knows in what genres my taste will expand in the future.

So, for the albums. Everything might not be in 100% order i may have missed a few good albums but these blogs will give a good hunch about my musical taste. And for some comparison, I have currently about 900 albums of good music in my music collection…
