I know it's a long and disturbing list of connections and some of you may hate it but... who cares? Title of the journal says it is something personal, so it's fine :).

This has been a VERY difficult album list to compile. Through out time, music changes with me; so I decided to compile a list of albums which have stuck with me through out my life changes. Nevertheless, here are the top 25 albums of my life...in no particular order of course:

I'm doing this based on Teriyaki's journal but on my way, some of these albums may not scrobble much but they had some various influence on me (or maybe not, but still "good" and worth listening to) and yes it's almost the end of the year and I don't want to do this shit at the last day
#7 : BONDAGE by 北出菜奈

why Nana Kitade is on number 7 but she appeared at the top ? because this number is special, it's more like number 1 but her number is 7 so I put it here (lolz fanboy spirit :D)

why ? : Because Nana Kitade just save my damn lifeless life with "not so clear" hope and dream. At least I had both of them now ! Her music is really something that touches me. It could be like this, but It could be like that, in a lot of different ways. And I just can't belive whenever I listen to her song, I usually found out something new that I haven't discovered before. The way she writes her own lyric too, quite stunning, but so beautiful (I hope she didn't write any lyric about depressive/suicidal thought, if so, maybe I'll do what her lyric say XD) And Bondage is the first "true CD" that I had

#2 : Awake by Dream Theater

Dream Theater is the first prog metal band that I listen and beyond that, It's the first album with "metal" that I give a serious listening. I try this albums after playing
Space-Dye Vest to the 40 times (and yes, non-stop) and after listening to the first time, It was beyond the fucking insane realm of Epicness. The album started with a kick-ass drum and I could listening to without any bored. It was the best DT album so far (to me). And it helps me improve my "listening-to-epic-music" pretty much (at least not praising St.Anger by Metallica to a new fucking dimension !)

#3 : My Arms, Your Hearse by Opeth

Yes ! It's Opeth and their own gerne : Opeth Metal ! a gerne to describe how unique Opeth was. Everything in this album is OWNED ! From the music to Mikael's voice, and not to mention about the conception, it's so full of emotion and meaningful. Opeth's lyric is very something and I just can't get my head out of those word. And yea, I started to write after listening to this album. A perfect extreme Prog metal album !

#4 : Kamigami No Tasogare by ALI PROJECT

Kamigami no Tasogare is the first AP album that I listening to and I IMMEDIATELY fall in love with Arika's voice (some of my friends said that Arika's voice could simply kick Tarja's ass out of the planet, no way !) This album is so simple, just baroque music influence, yet so beautiful and full of emotion. Along with Arika's unique voice, it become something that made me fell into a short 5' COMA. The lyric, yet it's so poetic (Arika had a strong aristocrat/gothic imgae, so it's easy to understand why)

#5 : Four Seasons To a Depression by Nocturnal Depression

why this fucking EP with Depressive/suicidal black metal appeared ? Because I try this one after the shock that caused by Silencer's Sterile Nails and Thunderbowel clip (that clip was taken from the sick ass movie Begotten that Obscure by Dir en Grey is deserve to wipe that movie's ass) And the first time is "listenable", but the second time it's like "Whoa" ! the EP is just dark and "depress". The vocal will definitely throw you out of yourself. The guitar sound is just raw and like a cold breezing wind that give you a chill. Worth listening to (yes, depressive/suicidal black metal is better than fucking doom metal with gothic shit)

#6 : Evangelion by Behemoth

yet, once again Black Metal appeared, but this time is a Black/death metal filled with anti-chiritianism. I have nothing much to say about this album, it's very "headbangable" (imagine when you burned a church at 24/12 and play this album while waiting for the cops to come, quite fun) This album gains my interesting about the guitar style on Black Metal

I'll try listening to Behemoth more, or just fucking quit it and listening to raw black metal (whichCradle of Filth is a good example of "tr00 kvlt raw black metal - don't shit about this if you don't have any sense of humor)

#7 : The Random and the Purpose by Dax Johnson

Dax Johnson's music is describe as "pureness feelings". Yeah, he has a complex piano work, "A mouth for an eye", and he is the best solo pianist that I've ever know, I mean EVER ! Worth spending A DAY just to listening to all of his album

#8 : Heartwork by Carcass : Simple, but pure awesome old school Melodic Death Metal. This album is a turning point and created the term called "Melodic Death Metal". And the first death metal album that I give a try

#9 : Out of Myself by Riverside
it's prog metal once again, but this time is Riverside. The melody is very easy to get addictive. The lyric is simple, but so haunted and full of "depression". Worth listening to

#10 : The Mantle by Agalloch
it's hard to define the gerne of Agalloch,because it's so unique and rare (it's more like atmospheric folk/dark metal). Agalloch is the first band with nature inspired that I'm listening to, and because they had the natural influence, you can feel beauty of the natural inside all of their song. And The Mantle so far is the best album that I've ever known. The line that impress me the most is "If this grand panorama is what you called god - then god is not dead"

Okay, first off, dramatic title, but I know myself that on this website I skim down artist pages, and only bold titles grab my attention. Hell, there's a good reason for it; journals here have went mostly to piss since every user and their mate decided it would be a good idea to post 'My top albums' lists ad infinitum.

It's been a while since I vented my thoughts, and looking through past journals and comments, it invigorated me, to an extent where I wish to share something that's been driving me crazy for quite a while.

The X-Factor, never off our red-banner tabloids (What's Afghanistan matter when Tiger is about, eh Sun?) or TV screens was angry to discover this week that the funk/rap metal band Rage Against the Machine's classic song Killing in the Name had been chosen to spoil the fun.

On Facebook, the group is hundreds of thousands strong, a casual look at the shoutbox here on Last Fm tells us a similar story, and every rock/music blog and magazine has been shouting about it. Now, I'm all for a shake up of the mainstream charts and system. It's refreshing to see the 'alternative' music scene get their share of the publicity pie.

What annoyed me was that arrogant, smug bastard Simon Cowell's reaction. For all his millions, that man has no class - he argued that such an online movement was 'stealing' his TV show competitor's chance at a big hit. The way he said it made him sound as though he feels that every Christmas, the X-Factor winner has a divine right to a Number 1 hit. His shown has been denying EVERYONE for YEARS.

If you look at what I listen to, you'll realise I've never cared for what's top of the charts, I couldn't name you a Mika song and I detest Nickleback. That's all and good, everyone has non-subjective tastes. But what I hate is programs like the X-Factor, that manufacture talent, that water down original versions, pollute any sense of artistic meaning in music, and ram their own views down the throats of millions. This show is an abomination; a macabre mixture of the freak-show auditions, ratings squeezing rounds and then what is usually a vastly overrated, unprepared winner. How many have swam, not sank? JLS? I personally wouldn't call that talent, but each to their own.

In short, The X-Factor, and to a certain extent shows like 'I'm a Celebrity...' and 'Big Brother' are mindless, inane shows, devoid of meaning or a context in reality. Every year, I watch masses of people turn into cogs in a greater industry machine. Call me a typical black metal 'Grim' person but it disgusts me.

Buy the RATM single, hell, buy two. It's about time such trivial filth gets a slap in the face, and the X-Factor has got one, whether they get their coveted number one or not. I just hope that in result of this competition, people stop taking what they are given for granted, and look for some real, tangible meaning in what they listen to. I know some people will argue otherwise, but I can't imagine being emotionally connected to Gimme More without being a little shallow. When with others, particularly in a school, or social environment I feel such disparagement at what goes for meaningful music in popular culture.
