  • Some lyrics...

    2007年 6月 25日, 22:00 作者:Jazzmanstereo

    Today I introduced myself,
    To my own feelings,
In silent agony, after all these years,
They spoke to me... after all these years

    Fragile Dreams

    [Mr.Lif]
I still say fresh dope and things of that sort
I don't shoot up, smoke crack, or take shorts
Your thoughts are always welcome, I seldom
Won't enter another's perspective, corrective lenses
Are something that I wear, so I can see the globe real clear
Look, there's famine over there, plus the families in fear
Of disease and distress that lingers in the air
These are the words of a man in purgatory
Words of a simpleton living in oblivion
Is this the model for life you will envisionin'
free as can be in a world of imprisonment?
I dare you to check new territory
American dream? Time for another story
One where I don't choke to keep afloat
I'm sick of living on false visions of hope
With a knife to my own throat
Stick of dynamite inside my overcoat
    Because I know the ropes
  • My best songs of 2006

    2007年 1月 2日, 18:11 作者:Kamelbarn

Ok I'm going to do a list of songs I've loved this year. Please note that these songs doesn’t have to be released in 2006, it is just songs I've enjoyed listening to a lot this year.

    In alphabetic order:

    Aesop Rock
    9-5ers Anthem
    Labor Days
Aesop’s voice is something special and I’m sure you’ll agree with me if you’ve heard him sing.
This song is for the working masses, showing that hip-hop is still for the people and not mainly for money-making purposes. Great song with a purpose.

    Amon Tobin
    The Lighthouse
    Chaos Theory
It wasn’t the first song I appreciated of the Chaos Theory album, but after a year I can say that this is the one that I love the most. The pummeling breaks are building up the song for three minutes before it is let loose at its full extent, and what an ending it is.
The following track; Ruthless, is great as well.

    Blockhead
    Insomniac Olympics
    Music By Cavelight
This is Aesop Rock’s producer, but he is producing a lot of instrumental hip-hop by himself as well. …

    Weekly Top Artists
    Sunday Jan 1 - Sunday Jan 8

it is my first week of the year... obviously a good time to start analysing the music i listen to on a weekly basis*

    1. Aesop Rock 44
one play each of Labor Days and Bazooka Tooth, plus a bunch of plays of one of my very favourite songs at the moment, 9-5ers Anthem.

"We the American working population hate the fact that 8 hours a day is wasted on chasing the dream of someone who isn't us, and we may not hate our jobs but we hate jobs in general that don't have to do with fighting our own causes. We the American working population hate the 9-5 day-in, day-out when we'd rather be supporting ourselves by being paid to perfect the pastimes that we have harboured based solely on the fact that it makes us smile if it sounds dope"

I'm not American, but the sentiment's universal. Aes remains the king of all.

    2. Imogen Heap 41
interesting one, this... i don't think i'd paid any attention to Imogen Heap at all before this week…
