Arash__A I haven't listened to this one before, maybe just because of it's artwork! But I've just found out what I've been missing! "One Way Street" and "Mama Kin" are my fave tunes! Great debut!

JamesHetfield13 Aerosmith’s self-titled debut is a remarkably assured collection of ‘70s-style hard rock. While the band would greatly expand and refine their sound from these raw beginnings, there is an incredible power to their early recordings. “Dream On” was a monster, a rock epic that’s still a showstopper all these decades later. The R&B roots are strongly evident in a killer cover of Rufus Thomas’ “Walkin’ the Dog” and the electric-boogie groove of “Somebody,” while the quick-lipped shuffle of “Mama Kin” already showcases singer Steven Tyler’s inimitable rapid-fire style. The band drew frequent comparisons to the Rolling Stones in those early days, as much for Tyler’s lips and guitarist Joe Perry’s dark horse demeanor as for the tight mesh guitars of Perry and second guitarist Brad Whitford. Even the lesser-known tracks here, the explosive opener “Make It,” the extended workout of the harmonica-driven “One Way Street” and the hilarious “Movin’ Out,” are all first rate tracks.

ClaudioGurgel 1973, a chegada do Kiss e do Aerosmith. Imagina... Esse álbum contém uma pitada de tudo de bom no rock dos anos setenta. A bateria tem bastante de Led Zeppelin, as guitarras com Drives da época e arranjos bem bolados, o jovem Steven Tyler já transbordava blues nas suas melodias e nos seus improvisos. Sem dúvida “Mama Kin” e “Dream On” merecem o destaque, não só entre as faixas, mas sim destaque entre os maiores rocks de sua época. Apesar disso “One Way Street” e “Movin’ out” têm a mágica da primeira fase da banda. O som das gravações têm a nítida inocência de primeiro álbum, não tem nenhuma “mega-produção” no sentido de partes orquestrais, ou de grandes arranjos e overdubs, é apenas uma banda tocando o bom e velho rock ‘n’ roll.

AshiMishA Why am I angry? Because the date of the release is awfully wrong! What 1990? Album "Aerosmith" was released in 1973. This is their 1st album!

helmespc Not really sure why I never see good reviews of this album. As far as I'm concerned, it is the best, most raw, Aerosmith album. Its got a lot more energy than a subsequent releases.
