Mine (Awful Lot of Tigers), but if we're talking bands who have actually played live or sold albums, my favorite New York band right now is…I guess Sonic Youth. Though I'm just as close to Montreal, and my favorite band there is The Dears.

Adam Franklin (of Swervedriver) at the EARL (East Atlanta Restaurant and Lounge) last fall

what was the greatest show you've ever been to?
Pink Martini with the Dayton Philharmonic was pretty great. Delirious? puts on a great worship concert, as I've witnessed four times.

what's the worst show you've ever been to?
I went to see Pony Express and Map in Oklahoma City years ago, and only Jeff Cloud showed up. It was still cool, though.

Sat 16 Feb – Adam Franklin
Adam Franklin, singer-songwriter from Swervedriver, did a solo gig in Sydney Sat night. Just his voice, electric guitar, amps, a few guitar pedals and a bottle of red wine. His voice was gloriously warm as was his tunage.
He played many more Swervedriver songs than I thought he would (fantastic) though radically different than the original recorded versions. I reclined, legs up, on the Chesterfield lounge in the Oxford Arts Factory, thank god, cos I had period cramps, and closed my eyes and let it all envelop me. I'm so glad i went! And Simon Day (Ratcat) played support, and he had some damn interesting songs too.Adam FranklinSwervedriverToshack HighwayRatcat
