以美国本土的赛林市女巫猎杀事件为名的Abigail Williams，在2005年以一张Limited Edition EP【Gallow Hill】 的发行宣示创团於美国的亚利桑那，早期创团时为自各团吸收在线人士，共同组成了来自美国的交响黑金属团，虽说近10年以来欧美文化交流频繁，但能够在异地将非本土文化描述的十分成功的乐团也确实不多，相较於当时如雨后春笋出现以鞭笞金属、重金属、辗核、硬核等等的乐团，Abigial Williams在一开始所发行的EP上并没有获得很好的成绩，在曲风上以较传统的黑金属作为整张专辑录制的架构，以犀利高亢的黑腔嘶吼开场Forced Ingestion of Binding Chemicals，运用大量电吉他的刁钻曲调勾勒整张专辑的主轴旋律，并以稳健踏实的鼓点与古典钢琴配置佐以开阔的旋律曲风辅以黑金属的凄厉，整张专辑虽未在市场上获得高评价却已算是张相当有程度的黑金属乐团。

而之后团员开始大幅度的变动，几乎各各位置都有所变动，尤其鼓手与Bass手的部份更是有多次的成员更替，而期间曲目的创作也未曾间断，之后於2007年正式入主大厂Candlelight Record，并於2006年年底发行期间创作的Demo录制而成的第二张Limited Edition EP【Legend】，并开始準备第一张Full Album Studio的录制，这张专辑相较於【Gallow Hill】起来，更换鼓手的结果使得这张专辑的鼓点有相当大幅度的成长，尤其在第五首Procession Of The Aeons可以明显的感觉出来，而黑腔部分也有了长足的进步，近似於Cradle of Filth类型凄厉悲愴如同冤魂哀鸣般的黑腔，让整张专辑的速度感与叙事性有了相当程度的提升，就以一个黑金属乐团来说，Abigial Williams在【Legend】所呈现出来的已经成为即便在北欧地区也足以举足轻重的实力。

之后进入了2008年，在录制完最新专辑【In the Shadow of the Thousand Suns】时鼓手Trym Torson离团，并於2008年的10月发行了他们的第一张Full Album Studio，在进入宣传期时便替补了鼓技高超的battery鼓手Samus（常到You Tube看鼓技的对他应该不陌生），对等於Trym Torson的年轻鼓手与鼓技，以及在这张专辑中加入的大量弦乐编制与古典钢琴乐手Ashley Ellyllon的替补，让整张专辑的水準达到了最高峰，大量运用弦乐佈置在back melody的配置，营造出如军乐般气势磅礡的交响诗篇，绵密如雨丝般紧凑的双踏鼓点与大量运用的变拍对点技巧，高亢凄厉如鬼魂悲歌哀鸣般的黑腔，并在乐曲的编制中适时抽离黑暗与残暴的鼓点与riff而以单纯的古典钢琴旋律与交响弦乐作为间奏，大量舒缓了紧凑密集且疯狂的黑色旋律，给予了听者更广大的无垠空间，也更添增了整张专辑的诡异与神秘，使得【In the Shadow of the Thousand Suns】在气氛营造与叙事性上更加的成功，彷彿置身於老旧残破的夜晚教堂，漫步於魂牵魄引的荒野墓园般的恐惧与悽凉藉由著旋律让人身历其境。

结合了各种完美的交响黑金属元素而成的Abigail Williams，在几经挫折后於去年达到了顶点，创团不超过5年的年轻乐团，便已开始与各大名团同台演出已可看出他们强劲的潜力与实力，如果你对黑金属情有独钟或是百寻不著足以让你动心的乐团，那Abigail Williams必然是你一定要知道新一代交响黑团的第一个名号。

    Honestly, I got into these guys in the early stages of the group when the "Legend - EP" had just come out, then when they did "In The Shadow of a Thousand Suns" I thought it was badass. But, I don't know I just can't get into what they've been doing since, I hope if they really do come back it's a return to their early sound. [2] Same here.

    quite excited for this new album. This band, although maybe not the most 'kvlt' black metal abnd or whatever you elitists think, were my gateway into black metal, so I will always hold them close to my heart. Personally I think they've gotten better and better with every release, so this new album should be their best yet.
