CDs I Own
2009年 1月 12日, 20:55 作者:Zodokai
I figured that I'd keep track of my ever growing CD collection, so I'll update this whenever I get another album. Be sure to check back somewhat often to see my newest purchases! Please keep in mind that I'm not including singles, EPs, compilations by several artists, or CDs I've burned from friends. These are all albums I physically have.

While reading MetallicaACDC's journal entry comparing
Highway to Hell to Stairway to Heaven, it occurred to me that there are truly so many unique ways to write great rock n' roll music.
This occurred to me because I see a problem in such an analysis in that, while the titles lend themselves to this type of comparison, the songs are so dissimilar that it really doesn't fit too well, beyond that. Stairway is epic, soft and somewhat slow, before soaring into that Jimmy Page guitar solo. Highway is short and often confused for a satanic song, which it isn't. These are two bands that write entirely different styles of rock n' roll, for the most part. I could see AC/DC playing a song like Rock & Roll, but not many Led Zeppelin songs other than that really fit their style. I can't immediately think of an AC/DC song that would suit Zeppelin very well.
In my opinion, the music of these two legendary bands exemplifies the many different ways you can write incredible rock n' roll. …
