I agree- mostly... I use razor blades every day, but I wouldn't give one to a 3 year old. This stuff IS going into the minds of thousands of people - without them really thinking about it. If you guys will just think about it, I feel like I've done some good here today... You obviously (like most intelligent and stable people) read between the lines and got something positive from it. Impressionable teenagers who are conflicted and feeling depressed about many things need some guidance to make sure they read and listen correctly. I would hope that highschool teachers would play it for the whole class and get their input and discussion - might be a wake up call for someone. THEN that song would be a POSITIVE influence. I question 3DD's reason for just throwing it out there without any commentary.

in reading over the shouts below - all of them - I count no less than three who chilled me to the bone. These people just may be inching "closer to the edge" and be in need of professional help before they "take the fall". Does anybody even care? I do. Take care what influences you allow to creep into your brain. In a moment of silent desperation you too might just fall... I'll search out the lyrics that encourage, enlighten, even provoke thought. But there is a limit on how dark I will go. This crap is over my limit...

just for the record- there have been 4 suicides in my extended family. Two were young people who for some reason felt they were "losers" and just did not fit in anywhere. One elderly gentleman had horrendous and costly health problems and did not want to be a "burden" to his family. One young father was distraught over an impending divorce that would take away a house he built with his own hands- and limit seeing his two young sons to only on weekends. They chose to end their life without saying goodbye and we will never know exactly what happened that drove them "over the edge". Music like this is not a laughing matter or simply entertainment to families who have suffered through such horrible tragedies. In reading the Wiki on 3 Doors Down, I am encouraged by the charitable contributions to their communities in a time of great need. But I wonder how such irresponsible lyrics could come from people who care about the impact their music has on the lives others.

I like this song - and yeah - it does have Alice in Chains influence- but I am also afraid that some unstable and immature person might listen to this and get the wrong message - and possibly do something tragic like hurt themselves or others. My opinion? God doesn't make "losers". We may become one by the choices we make, but even that can be turned around if we try. To just accept the belief that we are "losers" and that nothing can be done - is bullshit, a cop-out and possibly destructive thinking. That's just my opinion - what's yours?
