Blaze of Incompetence is their best effort imo, Drop Out comes 2nd. but yeah, you can't get around the vocals on any album of theirs.

It's true, I am not a big fan of Helmet, though I frankly haven't tried listening to them since the mid-90s, so perhaps that assessment isn't fair. I really have not listened to any of 16's recorded stuff. Like I said, my experience with them was hearing okay riffs through not-the-best-sound, and then hearing the vocalist start up what I interpreted to be pansy pig-screams. When he said, "Whuuuaaaah, I fucked up again!" is about when we made our exit. BUT I think I will give an album a try based on the description of their actual music here. Especially since I'll be seeing them again in the spring at MDF. Jimsonisolation, got an album rec to start with?

Vocals caused me to leave the bar where they were playing 1/3rd of the way through their first song. This is only a matter of preference, I realize, but I'm just saying: I hated the vocals so much I LEFT THE BAR before Black Cobra played.
