    I think the 13th Floor Elevators were very influential on the psychedelic rock scene, which in turn was very influential on rock music in general.

    They aren't as insanely influential as the Velvets, but they're currently in the same situation they used to be in.

    This band does not get the recognition they deserve. For every "Velvet Underground" that comes out of someone's mouth, there should be a "13th Floor Elevators".
