    It's only question of taste. I love *experimental* albums and eras like Gorgoroth Nietzsche Era, All albums of Mayhem after GDOW, blackened death era of Behemoth and DSO too. I think not only rage and hate made Black metal an true Art, he must be something more.

    Even on Demonoir it felt like they had lost the fire of their older days. Experiments can turn out to become monumental successes (see Deathspell Omega), but in 1349's case it only resulted in a severe symptom of apathy in a genre that thrives on unholy passion

    Back to RotBf, i think its the experiment era all good band need to have. You might (and must at some point) dont like it but it will be, in other, strange and different sound they search inspiration fire that flares after a while. Look on Demonoir it not sounds the same but go on the same way.

    Hellfire got me into black metal. I find it remarkable how my taste in BM changed. I'm listening to hipster bands nowadays(blackgaze). I still love the music I used to love, though. I just don't feel that same need to listen to it.

    The songs on Demonior are insane. Especially Psalm 777. Although, it's true, I think, this in not something you can listen to all of the time. Their level of antagonism is just so brutal...It's like addictive and repulsive at the same time...Save it to be blown away with every once in a while.
