Ariyin I really loved their latest album and, really enjoyed this single as well as this review. Mimic is really cool, the guitars and the bass are really good. Paranoid, the synth guitar is really nice it'd be nice if they used it more through the whole song and it misses inspiration, i didn't like this song the first time it and i expected more of it but still it's really growning on me now. And Honesty, well i like this song the most of the whole single, acually Mimic is a better composed song but i just like this one more and it's a really safe move indeed. Short said i enjoyed this single more than i did with SLEEPER, but VERMILION was much better. I hope they release harder stuff with their next single(s).

Madygrain hmmm I disagree. The structure is not the same at all in fact. There are no so much chorus repetitions (in fact barely two) and the song has a couple of interesting interludes/breakdowns wich is "rare" for a nightmare song. It's not groundbreaking, but it's not the same at all.

Well ye, Mimic is your generic Nightmare song. Defintely not a bad one, but it follows the structure of Nightmare's A side songs. So ye, you have probably heard it before, from Nightmare itself :P

Tezza_Larks Swear I've heard all the ideas in Mimic elsewhere.. Paranoid is pretty sporadic i guess.. Honesty reminds me of a more upbeat and musical lulu.. I really don't understand where Nightmare are going anymore..

Ye i agree. Paranoid could be much more interesting, if they did more with the guitar and the background synths. But it stays a gimmick. And thats to bad. And Honesty is indeed safe move.

Not impressed by the single by any means.Mimic is cool, I just don't know wihy it's not on the album. It fits there. It a really amusing song. Paranoid is the less interesting of the 3 to me. Has some creative guitar sounds here and there but it's not paranoid at all and the chorus feels completely disconected of the verses. Also it's a really unexpressive song that seems to fit no mood at all. Honesty is good in a majestical parade way. This means good but not brilliant but still highly enjoyable. Easy to like and easy to digest. Best solo on the single imo. But a really safe and unsurprising move. Mimic really moves the band forward in therms of Sakito composing heavier and more compelling songs. In therms of songs, liked Mimic and Honesty and completely neutral about paranoid. As a release, mimic is a fucking cashgrab using 2 albumb leftovers and one song that deserved it's palce on an album released almost fuking yesterday.

Okay Paranoid has a interesting setting, with that weird sounding guitar. But then you notice they only a play a few riffs with it. Why not everything? I know there is a solo in the same style, but that one isnt very long, so its over before you noticed it. Its just, they should made the whole song in that style, that way, the song would really stand out. Not a bad song though. And Honesty, ehm, it begins slow and with a great melody. But then its changes into a standard Nightmare rock song. Although it has a light touch, its just your daily rock. I wanted a slower song, a song that doesnt follow the standard Nightmare structure, but whatever. The songs arent bad in any way. But its safe material. Nightmare is playing it really save, once again. Just rock songs, with some electronic /synth touches. And what is up with these stupid video clips full with illuminati symbolism? Come on!

I actually thought the bass intro of Gianizm Shi was the best bass part ever. Sounded so great in combination with the drum and all that.

You know, to me its like, Nightmare will never be able to suprise me with their music. This doesnt mean their music is bad. I enjoyed songs like Romeo and Vermillion, but still, they didnt suprised me in a SINGLE way. Nightmare always delivers whats expected. And ye, in some ways, thats actually nice. But currently im just dying to hear new styles of them. Why not bass solo? They never did that, but does that mean they shouldnt do it in the future? Come on, Surpise me! They just keep releasing straight rock songs, and that okay, but it doesnt suprise me one bit. I mean, if a band cannot suprise you anymore with its music, you will aways feel something is missing in their sound. The suprise element in music imo one of the most imporant parts.

I don't think they are too high. It's not something that they could not do. I would also love a song with a killer bass and guitar solo. The thing is that kind of thins are not the focus of the band right now. They seem more focused on doing more things and changing estructures and melody making. It's sad they are not adding that great performance touches. They would add a lot.

I heard the song, but i didnt even notice the bass. Maybe because of bad quality or anything, but i was expecting a bit more. Like a solo or anything.

Yes it is. The bass is nice, but since it's a transcoded track I can not hear it well thoughout the song. I will have to wait to a proper CD rip. The song itself is cool but it suffers of not being able to live up to a really promising opening. The first 30 seconds of the song are explosive and that left me expecting some ecually exciting climax that never happens. Maybe I listened the previews too much before release and I got used to the most interesting parts of a rather short song, so I dunno really.

Listened the a side via a leaked PV a couple times. It's ok, and has nice melody and bass touches, guitar solo was way less interesting than expected but I really don't know what to think lol. Feel like there is a lot of wasted potential. In that aspect it reminds me of a:Fantasia... just worse in that aspect.

Personal bet: mimic -> fast paced hard rock song by Sakito/Ni-ya Paranoid -> Heavy dark song by Ruka reminiscent of swallowtail. Honesty -> no fuckig clue. Ruka/Sakito ballad maybe?

Looks darker than the other releases. Ni-ya said on twitter that one of the songs featuring a PV would be violent, so it could be either mimic or the b-side, paranoid. He also stated that mimic basslines are really complex and require lot of technique since he has convined slap and pick use in the chords. Sounds quite interesting.
