Releasing an album of self-covers is something that no band I have ever been a fan of has ever done, until now. I must admit, I was sceptical of this from the moment I heard about it, but I thought, you never know, ストレイテナー very may well blow my mind and do something totally unexpectedly awesome with this. However, they did not - for the most part. The one actual new song, VANISH, is absolutely brilliant. An instant favourite, with a DISCOGRAPHY kind of vibe to it, which you'll know is a great thing if you're familiar with that track.
The new version of BERSERKER TUNE gets the self-covers off to a good start. It's not necessarily miles better than the original, but it rocks harder and faster, which makes for a total jam if the original wasn't enough of one already. Another good thing about it can be said the same for pretty much every song on the record; it feels more full and well-produced than the original. …
