Music. Yay!

Hi, my name is Bruce (a.k.a. proBRUCEr).

I've been a music head all of my life. My toddlerhood was tied to a turntable, my childhood to the radio, and my teendom to a Walkman.

I was a radio DJ and station manager in college (WPLT at SUNY Plattsburgh) while studying Mass Communication (with a concentration in TV and radio production) and then ventured out on a one way Amtrak ticket for a career in music journalism in New York City.

I've written and produced over 1000 hours of music/interview-based video content, including "Steven's Untitled Rock Show" (SURS) and "The Sauce" for Fuse; "Daily Remix" for Oxygen Media; and "Total Request Live" (TRL), MTV News, and a slew of specials for MTV.

I co-founded the Sean McGrath Fund in honor of my dear friend, who played in the punk and hardcore bands Saves The Day, Hands Tied, and Mouthpiece before succumbing to cancer. I also do voiceovers, tend bar, volunteer, and smile a lot.

The photo thumbnail for the group is a page from the "Innovators" issue of Alternative Press in 2008, when they named my SURS host Steven Smith and I as "Tastemakers" for the punk rock community. But really, it's often the community that helps make MY taste, so I hope you'll join my group, and share your opinions and recommendations on music!
