it was SOBER, times of elementary school, i was a big fan of grunge back then and i didn't pay much attention to tool.. unfortunately for me.

i need a friend to find my broken mind before it falls to pieces.

It was Stinkfist for me,
I actually watched the video in a local channel (back in 1997). I was stunned with that kind of industrial, futuristic, post grunge sound and the video with the sand guys that looked like they were suffering from tardive dyskinesia.

Mine was Stinkfist, and then through the rest of Ænima, and it hooked me straight off. As the story goes with a ton of other guys on this group by the looks! :)

I bought Undertow sometimes back in 1994 and ever since i've been biggest fan! Tattoos and everything.

I got into Tool quite late. After I rediscovered APC in, let me guess, 2007 (don't really know though). With the time I read some comments on APC videos in which Tool fan recommendet their beloved Band. Then I listened to "The Pot", 'cause it was so popular on youtube, and got blown away by this massive overload of greatness^^

After that I listened to a few other songs (and bought Aenima, because off its rating by the fans, and 10,000 days, right away on amazon), I was a bit surprised of the change in Maynards voice^^, but then (after I discovered Aenima) I realized how good his vocals are in, whatever song it is. By the way, I still didn't realize then, that Maynard did the vocals for APC, I noticed that pretty late xD

Well, thats how I discovered Tool and I'm soooooo damn glad that I did.
Now I can't quit it anymore^^

back in 2006 i where in a cd-store and said to the man that i wanna listen to 10,000 days. he answered: you'll buy it, anyway. i thought what a weird answer.
started to listen and thought: man, that is impossible to understand in 20 minutes.
THE POT was the one i listened the whole way through... yeah - they totally got me.
i payed and got an "i told you so" - but he was damn right.

Vicarious. it just blew me away. What later shocked me was that they had songs that were even better than this powerhouse of a track.
