  Agreed, not every one will tag artists appropriately and as detailed as others and it is often the case with any artist that their genres can be hard to distinguish and therefore broader tags such as 'indie' or 'alternative' tend to be used, I tend to fall in to this category of tagger. As for Elin Fflur, I've tagged her with 'pop,'welsh' and 'cymraeg' - again I try to use broad tags, other may use 'female vocalist' and any tags that may be more specific.

  Yes, probably you're right, but sometimes there are no other tags except for those I've already mentioned and some even more ambigious like indie, female vocalists or singer-songwriter. But ok, let's hope that it works! Welsh music relly deserves to be wider recognisable and if it gets so, there'll be more people to think of more suitable tags ;) (BTW, how would you tag Elin Fflur, for example?)

  @meredith999 You'll find that most try to tag Welsh artists with the 'Cymraeg', 'Welsh', 'Wales' or 'Cymru' tag in conjunction with an other tag(s) to suit the particular artists genre, I try to do this anyway. Most will agree (I hope!) that these tags are popular as a means of promoting artists from this country as well as the language in itself. Pob hwyl!

  The worst thing about the "Welsh" Welsh bands here is that they seem to belong to no particular musical genre- they all are tagged as "welsh", "cymru", "cymraeg" or "cymru aka welsh". Shame, really.

  Elin Fflur, Meinir Gwilym and Bryn Fon are my favourites. And I almost forgot: Carreg Lafar. But I think that the fact that I cannot find Welsh music in my country (I am Hungarian, living in Transylvania, that is today in Romania) is responsible of having only so few Welsh favourites. I heard some music from the Welsh Choirs too, they are marvelous! I hope that Welsh music will be available in my country too (to buy it from the net is too expensive for me), and maibe someday in a university of my country somebody will be thinking to open a Welsh department too, cause I want to learn the language, and more about the culture.

  There is plenty of great Welsh music out there, Kamros, and it will definitely help your learning to seek it out! On an unrelated note, i'm not sure welsh speakers take all that kindly to being called elves :p
