Bands include the likes of Soulive, Charlie Hunter, Grey Boy Allstars, Karl Denson, John Scofield, Medeski Martin & Wood, Stanton Moore, Galactic, Bela Fleck, and Robert Walter.

I hate the term "Jazz Jam Bands" but have yet to find a better name. So this group is for all those new, fresh acts out there combining jazz with hip hop, soul, funk and rock. If you know what I'm talking about, then join up!

i ended up here after a friend referenced my trio as a "jazz/jam band with an extensive reggae songbook"... if you're interested, www.grantmusic.net i freaking love the connected artists, so maybe this is where we belong.

Hmmm .. thinking out loud here ... how come at least 4 out of the top 10 artists (in the chart) are nowhere approaching a 'Jazz Jam Band' .... is it because for most members 'jazz jam bands' is a small element of what you like ? For me, the connected artist list is much more on the money ... 6 out of 8 there are amongst my top favourites for the last year or so.
