There're tons of variations/names of what this group is about: post-hardcore/melodic hardcore/emo/screamo/twinkle daddies/etc.

I guess this group is just about more close-to-the-roots post-hardcore. It could refer to bands that would know what kind of music you're referring to if you said Dischord Records. These are bands that know who The Nation of Ulysses or Orchid were. Some other appropriate tags are screamo, emo, skramz, melodic hardcore, twinkle daddies, etc.

Some examples:
Cap'n Jazz
Kidcrash
Raein
Victor! Fix the Sun
etc.

Some non-examples:
Alesana
Chiodos
A Day To Remember
The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus

etc.

All of the connected artists are ones that I have listened to and thought they'd be good to connect to this group. I realize they aren't all quite post-hardcore but they're similar enough.

If you want to see a new artist connected, just say something in the shoutbox and I'll listen (eventually), and I would hope others would too!

@drew I downloaded both of them from bandcamp and I'll listen soon! @Filup I saw those two bands the night before with The Saddest Landscape, all three bands put on killer shows as expected!

I saw Xerxes with PBTT last Sunday night. They were good. I picked up their record and it sounds a lot like Touche Amore, but I like it better than I like TA.

I'd suggest adding Still Sea. Similar to Hot Cross or super-early The Fall of Troy.

V because they aren't really that post-hardcore. I disconnected Algernon, Snowing, Grown Ups, and a bunch of bands like that too because I got a little carried away with connecting like every emo band.

I just listened to Mason for the first time and holy shit they're so cool. For bands like them, hmm. That was really unique, so I may not know anything that's quite what you want. but I'd listen to The Red Light Sting.
