I enjoyed it a bit considering it's not something I'd normally listen to, so I'll give it 6/10 :)

I just discovered this song yesterday and fell in love because Gilmour and Townshend is just a perfect combination IMO.

  • Something about the way in which he calls out for Gilmour I just found funny...

Anyways, there are some things about the live performance that I'm just about mild on, but generally it's a fantastic song with nice instrumentation. I suppose it drags a bit, though.

    I'll go with a solid: 8/10

    Time for some Sonata Arctica!

  • I generally have a very "meh" attitude when it comes to power metal. This hasn't done anything to convince me to reconsider... 5/10.

Potatoes taste really nice. Just sayin'.

Makes me think of a more metal Mr. Bungle. I'd say 7/10 would be right for me.

Not everbody like this game or..? Anyway, maybe rap is not cup of my tea, but this song so classic and not so bad to listen. 5/10

    Enjoy K - pop!

^ Well they're very cute, but i'm confused by the western fixation with K-Pop. I can't help hearing the overt influence of pan-Atlantic banality on these Asian bands. Maybe i'm overthinking it and just being an arsehole. I won't rate it like I usually do because i'm not even remotely informed enough about this sort of music.

Anyway, cool melodic of the song you've post, selfsuprise. 8/10

^ I feel bad because i've been slightly more critical of your choices than I have. But i'm nothing if honest ;p This one is quite nice actually. In the intro there is a subtle hint of something promising to be indier and (dare I say) . By the time the chorus drops it gets a lot more ear friendly and uplifting, but not bad given the fact it was a Eurovision entry! 5/10.

P.S. Why do all these foreign bands speak English? Its a dirty rotten shame. I'd love to hear some linguistic diversity, disregarding a national identity in the face of marketing pressure and commercialism.

Can the next poster please listen to... Szron

I don't know, maybe just because they need to passing their's international music market (special USA). :P
Wow! Black Metal (or Death Metal?), i love it! <3 10/10

Next: Axel Rudi Pell - Emotional Echoes

  • It sounds like classic heavy metal, which is fine, but it's nothing particularly new or exciting. 6/10

^ Sorry c, but this really isn't doing it for me. Listening to that just makes me wish I got here before you posted on Electric Wizard ;p The guest singer at the start even said "yeah, uhhn, come on" - who actually does that?!

Can the next poster please listen to Strangled Cop, extremely loud (seriously, be careful if you've got headphones on!) and strangely punked-up harsh noise/power electronics.

Rather good! I like the slightly uneven sounding recording quality. I wish more gothic rock bands went for this melancholic pop feel rather than the overstrung and overbaked squeaky clean electronic-opera that latterday acts seem to prefer. 7/10.

Can the next poster please listen to the mental ragga stylings of breakcore artist Shitmat.

    "Tuff Babylon" - 7.5/10.

"Dubplate Murder Sound" - 5/10. A sense of disinterest took me while listening to this. Not exactly sure why, but it's there the entire way through.

"Amen Babylon" - 8/10. The intro was annoying, but everything afterwards was awesome, especially 4:40 onwards.

Choose a track. Or both. Your choice.

^ You only had to pick one song, but thanks for taking the time to go through them all :D I'll return the favour.

Whilst I can scarcely claim to be an expert of the genre I do like free jazz , particularly the really uncomfortable insectile sounding stuff by Tony Bevan or Gebhard Ullmann. Ghosts reminds of them only there seems to be a modicum of restraint and (dare I say) an attempt at making an immediately recognizable song. I'd give it 7.5/10. The Wizard does more or less the same thing only right from the start there is a regularly orchestrated slackening and heightening of the tempo that gently threatens to bring the song to a standstill. I also think the sax about 3 minutes in sounds like an angry exoskeletal alien. Very clever :D 8/10.

Can the next poster please listen to Harold Budd.

9.5/10. I'm not very good at articulating why I like certain things within certain songs, so the closest I can come as to why I like this so much is a certain pressure I feel within the song.

I still can't get over how amazing the cover is, but I hear the music within this album ain't half bad as well. Give either track a listen, both are equally great.

^ My accumulated knowledge of hip-hop is embarrassingly sparse, but these two tracks are cool. I like the cut n paste feel of old-school hip-hop, you can hear all "joins in the gaps" and the delightful flaws. Whenever I hear this sort of thing it just makes me want to throw a boombox at 50 Cent's face. The percussion on Critical Beatdown is awesome, and now I know where The Prodigy sampled that "i'll take your brain to another dimension, pay close attention" line from :D, 8/10.

Can the next poster please listen to power electronics sicko Nicole 12. Feel free to listen to both of the tracks or just one.

(to be honest with you I picked these two because they were the least likely tracks to get me banned from the forum/arrested by actual real-life police ;p)

  • The whole pedobear thing aside, this kind of electronic noise is just not my thing, though I don't find it un-listenable either. I suppose I must give both tracks something like a: 4/10

Alright, so the next listener must listen to some hip-hop remixes / mash-ups by dj BC. As before, there are two links here, and so you can listen to one or both.

The Beatles AND Beastie Boys... At the same time! Great stuff, the songs mix really well and it sounds marvelous. Full points.

A band that I recently started to listen to a lot is the korean hip-hop group 리쌍 (Leessang). I really dig their style of hip hop and is the kind of music I would recommend to anyone.

Now, listen to this song. I discovered them recently. Isn't this beautiful?

I hate this kind of mainstream rock. everything about this track was mediocre. it reminded me of Nickelback and that's not a good thing, at all.

now you must listen to....Yoko Ono! (don't worry, she doesn't scream here):

oh sorry I skipped you, yours was beautiful of course. a bit too long and meandering though but I love the instrumentation a lot. I heard about her many times but haven't listened to her stuff yet. i'll give it about 8\10
